Bowhunting Basics: Bow Styles
The Budget is set and now it's time to make your decision on what style of bow that you want to purchase.
Traditional⠀
Being only 2% of all archers, traditional bows are by far the simplest and most elegant of the categories, but they are by far the most difficult to master and requires relentless craftsmanship and practice. ⠀ ⠀
The recent rise in traditional archery comes partially from people like Aron Snyder, The Push, and Primitive Pursuit. And with thousands of premier and hobbyist traditional bow makers, choosing the right bow for you can sometimes be overwhelming. ⠀ ⠀
Compound⠀
The Compound bow is by far the most popular of choice for archery hunting. It has a mechanical advantage over traditional bows and hosts the broadest amount of searchable information, tips, and instructional related content. With 40+ different compound bow manufacturing companies (that I've found) like:
all making different products, choosing a compound wont be much easier.⠀ ⠀
Crossbow⠀
For anyone with firearm related experience, a crossbow is the best transition into archery. While they are much more easier and effective to shoot than both traditional and compound, the crossbow is often looked at as a completely different form of hunting. ⠀ ⠀
The crossbow again comes in many different forms, colors and styles (Recurve crossbow & Compound crossbow) and is perfect for the person who might be physically disabled, handicapped, wiser, or just looking for the most modern and easy-to-be-effective method allowed by regulations.⠀ ⠀
