Sweet, Spicy 'n Smoked Venison Jerky

It’s hard to find someone who doesn’t like jerky. This Independence Day serve your guests something really special: Sweet, Spicey ‘n Smoked Venison Jerky. It’s easy and will be a definite crowd-pleaser.
⠀
Ingredients:⠀
- 1 pound of venison ⠀
- 1⁄2 tsp of apple cider vinegar⠀
- 1⁄4 tsp of onion powder⠀
- 1⁄4 tsp of garlic powder⠀
- 1⁄2 cup of coconut aminos (or soy sauce)⠀
- 1 tbs of honey
- 1 tsp of cayenne pepper⠀
- 1 tsp of red pepper flakes⠀
- 1 tsp of black pepper⠀
- 1⁄2 tsp of salt⠀
⠀
Directions⠀
- Remove all fat and cut the venison into thin slices (roughly between 1⁄8 and 1⁄4 inch thick)⠀
- Add all ingredients into a bowl and mix together thoroughly (blending helps get the honey to mix in fully)⠀
- Throw everything in a plastic bag and marinate a few hours (we like to do it overnight)⠀
- Preheat the smoker to 180 using the wood you prefer (we like hickory) and then lay the slices across your smoking racks⠀
- Smoke for roughly 2-4 hours ⠀
- The venison should be pliable but shouldn’t crack when you bend it⠀
